Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reunited at her Watch Hill, Rhode Island beach house over the weekend after she finished the European leg of her Eras Tour. However, their time together didn’t last too long, as Kelce traveled back alone to Kansas City, Missouri, Monday ahead of Tuesday’s 2024 Kansas City Sports Awards.
Kelce took home a big honor: the Polsinelli Sportsman of the Year. You can see his speech here. He told the crowd at one point, “I’ve been here 12 years, and I love the support, that’s why I came out tonight, to make sure you guys see the face of the people that love you guys just as much as you love them.”
Swift remained in Watch Hill, where several of her celebrity friends, including Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Blake Lively, and Ryan Reynolds, had been partying at her beach house. It’s unclear when and if Swift’s get-together ended, but photos were still coming out Monday of her friends at the house with her. They offer one good reason she couldn’t join Kelce in Missouri.
Kelce took a private jet to Kansas City early that morning, so it is possible he will return to the house later. Daily Mail noted the plane was the same kind as Swift’s.
Kelce likely has practice this week for the Kansas City Chiefs too; the team is gearing up for their first official season game against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
Swift, for her part, gets to rest after a very long stretch performing across Europe. Swift finished her last Eras Tour show in London on August 20. She will remain on break until October 18, when she begins her Miami shows.
She will have weeks to spend with Kelce before she goes back to work. The couple could even make their red carpet debut at the MTV VMAs on September 11. (Kelce doesn’t have a game that night, although the Chiefs play the Cincinnati Bengals on September 15.)
A source told People in early July that the couple remains supportive of each other’s careers. For Kelce, “football is definitely still his priority but so is his relationship,” the source said. “He makes romantic gestures to show he’s thinking of her when they’re apart. She’s going to try to attend as many games as possible.”
Swift and Kelce have kept some parts of their relationship private, too. Their love story is precious to them, a source told Entertainment Tonight on August 15. “Their connection is unlike anything that they’ve ever experienced before,” the insider said.
