Pamela Anderson was a vision in a white Dior gown at last week’s SAG Awards. But for Oscar Sunday, Anderson was nowhere to be seen on the red carpet.

Anderson’s absence at the Academy Awards is no surprise. The Last Showgirl actress is not a presenter, nor was she nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In fact, the film was shut out from the Oscars, and her notable exclusion from the Best Actress race was seen as a snub by many.

Later in the night, she wasn’t seen at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party either, though she did attend the event last year.

But Anderson herself told ELLE.com that she feels nothing but gratitude for the awards season run she had with The Last Showgirl.

When asked about the Oscar snub, she responded, “Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win. That’s what I like to do, and I think we can lose sight of that sometimes in this whole crazy awards season, but it’s nice to be recognized, and it’s all a bonus.”

She added: “I couldn’t imagine [it] anyway. I’m happy for the SAG nomination, that’s [voted on by] your peers. That’s really cool. This has been a long road promoting this film.”

Anderson reflected on her early career while speaking with Martha Stewart in a digital cover story for ELLE.com. She said, “It’s hard to navigate a business that is based on physical beauty and also naïveté. You’re in this business and you want to please people and you have a gut feeling that maybe it’s not the right thing to do, and you can get yourself in these dangerous situations. I was such a shy young girl, if you can believe it—I wanted to do anything to stop being shy. When the Playboy cover [opportunity] came up, my mom said, ‘Do it.’ I didn’t know what it was going to lead to, but then it led to this wild and crazy life.”
