Today (July 13, 2021) marks 20 years since the 'Bend and Snap' dance routine and quotes like 'I'm Elle Woods, this is Bruiser Woods and we're both Gemini vegetarians', and 'What? Like it's hard?' infiltrated pop culture.

On this date in 2001, Reese Witherspoon's transformation into Elle Woods was shared with the world as Legally Blonde hit cinemas (its sequel came two years later).

The film provided an unlikely feminist hero for noughties teenage girls, reminding us to not let a boyfriend dictate your self-worth, that it's ok to like pink and have academic ambitions, and teaching us how to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace and that your differences might just be your greatest asset when it comes to success.

The film has such a legacy that it's 20 years on and Legally Blonde 3 is in the works with Mindy Kaling penning the third instalment's script and key cast members reprising their roles for a third time.

As a reminder of who those actors were and to see what they've been up to since, take a look at our refresher on the Legally Blonde cast.
