'The Most Unique Drama Of 2025 - Meet The Star-Studded Cast of 'Code Of Silence' Including Rose Aying-Ellis

The drama is a stellar cast of UK talent.

By Rhiannon Evans

A trailblazing show in its representation of the Deaf community, ITV's Code of Silence has won over viewers immediately after its release this weekend - and with a stellar cast of UK acting talent, perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise.

Led by Rose Ayling-Ellis (who also executive produces the show), Code of Silence - which is now all available on ITV X - is a drama like you've never seen before.

Ayling-Ellis plays Alison, a Deaf woman who works in the police canteen. One day, she's mysteriously pulled off shift to help a group of detectives involved in a high-stakes case. They ask her to lip-read the conversations of a criminal gang who they believe are on the edge of pulling over a dangerous heist. But after Alison finds herself struggling for money - and frustrated by the treatment of the team and those around her - she takes matters into her own hands, and begins trying to investigate the case.

Needless to say, things start to get very complicated from there on in.

'Code of Silence' is created by Catherine Moulton (The Stolen Girl, Hijack, Baptiste), who drew on her own experiences with lip-reading and hearing loss and plays out over six hour-long episodes packed with tension.
