Its second season may have come to an end in early 2022, but we still think about Euphoria on a near-daily basis. It's the fourth most-watched series in HBO history, with an average of 16.3 million viewers tuning in to watch the second series when it aired.

As viewers will know, the series follows 17-year-old Ruby 'Rue' Bennett (Zendaya), who has just got out of rehab, but continues to struggle with drug abuse, along with a cast of high school students. Sex, drugs and violence make it an often troubling, yet always compelling, watch and many viewers are probably still reeling from that finale, from the brutal scene at Fezco's (played by the late Angus Cloud) house to Lexi's OTT school play.

But fans of the show were delighted to learn that the season two finale was not the last we'd see of Rue, Jules, Maddy, Nate, Cassie and co. A third series was announced, but due to writer's strikes and various other setbacks, it won't be hitting screens until 2025 at the earliest.

While we (very impatiently) wait for the latest news of the eagerly anticipated third season, we thought we'd devote some time to seeing what the actors from the hit show have been up to since they took some time out from East Highland High School. From Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney to Jacob Elordi and Storm Reid, the cast reads like a roll call of the brightest young stars in Hollywood today.

Zendaya was famous long before she entered East Highland High School, gaining fame for her role as Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel sitcom, Shake It Up. She made her big film debut as Michelle (MJ) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, starring alongside her long-term boyfriend, actor Tom Holland.

Euphoria's creator Sam Levinson had envisioned Zendaya for the starring role, Rue Bennett, before anyone was formally cast, but reportedly doubted she would end up joining the series.

The global star has since appeared in both instalments of Dune and the eagerly anticipated romantic drama Challengers, in which she'll star alongside Mike Faist and Josh O'Connor.

Sydney Sweeney (Cassie) In 'Euphoria'

Sweeney's early roles included appearances on the television series 90210 (2010), Grey's Anatomy (2014), and Pretty Little Liars (2017). She also starred as the pious Eden Spencer in the drama series of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Cassie is considered Sweeney's breakout role, as the actor portrays the character's complex emotional journey and messy relationships. It also led her to star in The White Lotus, in which she played the privileged daughter of rich parents, Olivia Mossbacher.

In 2020, she launched the production company Fifty-Fifty Films, which is designed to create opportunities for women in the industry. In 2023, she starred in romcom Anyone But You, while 2024 is set to be another stellar year, with roles in marvel blockbuster Madame Web and horror movie Immaculate.

Elordi reached new levels of fame as the troubled – and troublesome – Nate in Euphoria, but before that the Australian actor starred in the Netflix series The Kissing Booth.

His two biggest roles to date came in 2023, when he starred as ill-fated aristo Felix Catton in Emerald Fennell's exceedingly popular Saltburn and Elvis in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla. As well as films, he's set to star in The Narrow Road to the Deep North, an epic Australian series

Since then, she's also appeared in The Suicide Squad (2021) and played Riley in the second series of The Last of Us, opposite Bella Ramsey. For this, she earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series. She also starred in 2023 horror The Nun II.

Ferreira announced that she was leaving Euphoria ahead of season three, saying that 'she didn't want to be the "fat best friend"' according to Vanity Fair. 'I don’t think he relates to Kat,' Ferreira said of Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, adding that the decision for her to part ways with the series was mutual.

She's since starred in 2022 sci-fi horror film Nope alongside Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer and in the 2024 comedy drama Bob Trevino Likes It.

She's since voiced Justine in the adult animated drama, Pantheon. This sci-fi series is based on the short stories of author Ken Liu.

A singer and songwriter as well as an actor, Alexa Demie has reportedly written songs since the age of 12. She memorably appeared in the 2019 film Waves alongside her role as Maddy in Euphoria.

She also had a brief cameo role in controversial series The Idol starring Lily-Rose Depp, which creator Sam Levinson says happens 'in the same cinematic universe' as Euphoria. Demie appeared as a woman at a club in the pilot episode of the series.
