The jewel in HBO's crown, The Handmaid's Tale, is back on the small screen for the sixth – and final — time.
Adapted from the seminal 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale tells the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was formerly the United States. Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is one of the few fertile women known as Handmaids and she struggles to survive as a reproductive surrogate for a powerful Commander and his resentful wife.

The sixth series picks up where the fifth season, which aired two and a half years ago, left off: with June and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) aboard a refugee train heading for Alaska or Hawaii — anywhere but the inhospitable terrain of Toronto or Boston.

How many episodes are in The Handmaid's Tale Season 6?
The final season of The Handmaid's Tale will consist of 10 episodes. For those in need of refreshing their knowledge of all things Gilead, series one to five of the dystopian drama will also be available to stream on Channel 4 ahead of the final series launch.
When do new episodes from season 6 drop?
The first three episodes of The Handmaid's Tale were released in the US on April 8 but will take a little longer to be shown in the UK. The series' sixth series was available to watch in the UK on Channel 4 and Prime Video from May 3, but dropping one week at a time.
Sadly, while The Handmaid's Tale season six is available to stream on Hulu in the US, the channel is unavailable in the UK so Brits will have to wait a while longer before streaming the new series.
