Selena Gomez has reacted to Instagram users’ ‘disgusting’ comments after she was spotted eating at the same restaurant as Hailey Bieber over the weekend.
The singer was in an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber for several years before the ‘Sorry’ singer went 'official' with the blonde model in 2018. In September that year, Justin and Hailey married in New York before enjoying a second wedding ceremony last September in front of friends and family in South Carolina.
On Friday, Gomez was seen dining at West Hollywood go-to restaurant, Craig's, to celebrate the release of her latest album Rare. For the occasion, the 27-year-old singer wore a long brown blazer, jeans and gold hoop earrings, and was carrying what looked like a toaster.

Meanwhile, Hailey was photographed dining out at the same restaurant with her friends, including Brooklyn Beckham’s rumoured ex girlfriend Madison Beer and her stylist Maeve Reilly.
While Gomez and Hailey are not believed to have interacted with one another during their night out, Beer and the ‘Lose You To Love Me’ singer replied to negative comments regarding their outing.
‘I just had dinner with my friend hailey of 10 years... and that's it [sic],’ Beer wrote in the comments section of a photograph on Instagram that was filled with snake emojis from users.
‘How is that a crime? i love selena.. always have ... and i would literally never in a million years try to upset her??? this is just mean and unnecessary and nothin happened.’
In response, Gomez jumped to Beer’s defence, adding: ‘This is disgusting reading all of this.
‘This wasn't intentional whatsoever. I'm so disappointed that people would speak to someone like this. I have known Madison since she was a baby and watched her continue to become the woman she is.
‘There is no issue.’
In December, Hailey alluded to the ongoing rumours that she and Gomez are feuding.
‘I think social media is a breeding ground for toxicity and people creating false drama between women and trying to put women up against each other and create these narratives that are just...toxic,’ the 22-year-old told British Vogue.
‘I think that has to change and that has to stop.’
Last October, Gomez seemingly came out in defence of Hailey hours after she released her song ‘Lose You To Love Me’. At the time, fans believed the Texas-born singer’s song referred to her brief reconciliation with Justin at the beginning of 2018.
'I am so grateful for the response this song is getting,’ she said in an Instagram video.
‘However, I do not stand for women tearing women down. And I will never, ever be by that. So please be kind to everyone. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, if you’re my fans don’t be rude to anyone, please.'
'Don’t go off and say things that you just feel in the moment. Just please, for me, know that that’s not my heart and my heart is only to release things I feel that are me and that I’m proud of. And that’s all that I’ll say.'
