In the words of Lizzo’s hit single this summer ‘Truth Hurts’, there’s no better way to move on after a break-up than to get a shampoo press to get your ex out of your hair.
And, it would appear that The Weeknd is taking the singer’s words quite literally this week, if his red carpet appearance (his first since splitting from Bella Hadid) at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is anything to go by.
On Monday night, the singer – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – attended the Uncut Gems premiere to mark his feature film debut.
For the occasion, the ‘Starboy’ singer had gotten rid of his signature beard, keeping just the moustache and growing out his hair.
The 29-year-old styled his new look with a navy blue suit, a white button-down shirt and dark brown shoes.
The star’s new appearance comes weeks after he and Bella called time on their on/off relationship.
In July, Bella similarly updated her hairstyle, dying her chocolate-hued locks a Gigi Hadid-inspired dusty blonde.
While many thought the hair transformation to be temporary following her high-profile split, the model has continued to rock the beach blonde look at New York Fashion Week.
In the past few days, the 24-year-old has walked in shows for brands including Brandon Maxwell, Helmut Lang and Ralph Lauren.
On the same night as The Weeknd’s premiere appearance, the Californian-born beauty was photographed celebrating the launch of YouTube.com/Fashion with sister Gigi and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.
According to E! News, Bella and The Weeknd put an end to their relationship after struggling with long-distance.
'They are in different places right now, physically and mentally,' a source told the website. 'Bella is preparing for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut.'
