1'Female Intuition', Mabel
'Are you ready for an epic celebration of women? This pop song is a classic in making; uplifting lyrics, huge vocals and a rousing message. This is Mabel at her best yet returning to her R&B roots (I also couldn't stop listening to her 'Look at My Body Pt. II' which featured Shygirl that dropped in May). We can't wait to hear what's coming next.' - Lena De Casparis, Deputy Editor
2'Angel Of My Dreams', Jade Thirlwall
'Out of all the Little Mix crew, Jade’s solo material is what we’ve been most excited to hear. And she didn’t hold back with her debut single, Angel of My Dreams, which is, to put it mildly, an absolute banger. The song is a mash up of what feels like three different songs, but it works. All about her love/hate relationship with the music industry, it’s got all the elements of a really great pop song, and it’s been stuck in my head for weeks now, which I’m not mad about.' - Lottie Lumsden, Entertainment Director

3'Apples', Charli xcx
'I’m usually highly suspicious of any song that has an accompanying TikTok dance, but respect to Charli; with Brat she’s basically managed to transcend pop with an album that’s fun and irreverent and unapologetically herself. Apple is a textbook example: a study of the most relatable insecurities over a club facing, nauseatingly catchy beat. I’m leaving my cynicism at the cloakroom.' - Shannon Mahanty, Community Director
4'Espresso', Sabrina Carpenter
'Yes, it might be the obvious choice, but when I look back at summer 2024, the song I’ll associate it with will absolutely be Sabrina Carpenter’s "Espresso". Even though it was released back in April – and it continued raining here in the UK for another three months – the music video featuring Carpenter dancing on an elevated surfboard in vintage swimwear made us dream of summer holidays. That combined with a debut performance of the track at Coachella, closely followed by a Saturday Night Live finale performance in May firmly set its course as the song of the summer. Don’t just take my word for it. Since its first stream, it’s stayed for 14 weeks in the charts and is currently back at number one.' - Olivia Blair, Entertainment Editor

5'Challengers' Soundtrack, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross
'Here’s what I want from a summer tune: to make me want to throw caution (and, possibly, clothes) to the wind. Sweaty and sexy, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’s pulsating Challengers soundtrack brings a tonne of swagger to whatever you’re doing. Bring your own churros, racket and complicated friendships.' - Laura Antonia Jordan, Acting Features Director
6'Good Luck, Babe!', Chappell Roan
No summer soundtrack is complete with Chappell Roan’s 'Good Luck, Babe'. This year for certain, but maybe for years going forward too. Its synthy melodies are destined for your very own end-of-movie conclusion scene where all is right and loose ends are tied. The American singer’s vocal abilities come into their own as they drift over extremely catchy riffs and tattooable lyrics, which have made it a sapphic anthem too. Roan said she ‘was just wanting to write a big anthemic pop song,’ when it came to Good Luck, Babe. Goal achieved, we say. - Naomi Pike, Commissioning Editor

7'Love Me JeJe', Tems
'Tems has struck gold with her latest single Love Me JeJe. Feel-good and fluid in its melodies, the versatility of its vibe sets it as a guaranteed crowd pleaser for any occasion and playlist. We wouldn’t be surprised if you catch yourself listening to it on repeat.' - Panashe Nyadundu, Editorial Assistant
8'Guess', Charlie xcx
'In all of the years of my life, I have never heard an album that has made me want to aggressively move my body, whip my hair or throw myself around as much as Charli XCX's album, Brat, has inspired me to do. I have spent the summer so far blaring Charli's music out of car windows, marching friends onto various dance floors to shout the lyrics to 'Von dutch' in their faces and bribing others to learn the now-viral dance routine to 'Apple' with me. My favourite song has to be 'Guess' though, which is positively throbbing with brattiness and is so catchy I am convinced it is actually a contagion. I challenge you not to dance when you hear it. Long story short: if you see me with my headphones in stomping around London, don't interrupt me: I'm mid- Brat Girl Summer and loving every minute of it.' - Naomi May, Deputy Site Editor

9'Free Fall', Tems ft. J. Cole
'From Tems’ album Born in the Wild is the song I’ve been playing on repeat this summer. Whether in London Fields with a cider, on a road trip with friends, or seeing the singer play live at Glastonbury, I can’t seem to stop listening to the new single. - Ruby Vance, Social Executive
