If, like us, you’ve been waiting by your laptops to find out the name of the royal baby, born on Monday at St Mary’s Hospital, then you’ll be happy to know Kensington Palace may have accidentally given the game away by appearing to create a webpage specifically for ‘Prince Albert’.

Last night, royal fans realised that by when searching the URL https://www.royal.uk/prince-albert, users were met with a webpage which says ‘ACCESS DENIED - You are not authorised to access this page’.

To check this, we donned our Inspector Gadget goggles and found out that this is the same page which greets users who add George or Charlotte to the web link.

‘Okay, so big deal?’ you ask.

Well, this is a huge deal when you consider that if you search for other popular options in the running, including Arthur and Alfred, users are met with a page instead saying ‘PAGE NOT FOUND - the requested page could not be found’. This means those webpages haven’t been created, ie because they aren't the name.

As a result, this could be a major clue as to the new royal baby's name.

Albert is now the bookmakers’ favourite, with odds plummeting to just 4/6. Arthur, a previous favourite, is now out at 6/4.

Kensington Palace launched a new web page live in mid-March last entitled ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third baby’, sparking speculation that Kate Middleton was approaching her due date.

The new parents’ final choice on their third child’s name is still unknown, resulting in speculation the pair will announce the name today (Friday 27 April).

Prince George and Princess Charlotte's names were revealed just two days after they were born but it’s thought Kate and William decided to hold back the name of their third child to respect Anzac Day - a national day or remembrance in Australia and New Zealand for there fallen who fought at Gallipoli against the Ottoman Empire during World War I - which occurred on Wednesday.

Right, so the name is Albert? Well, nothing is a given until it’s announced by the Palace.
