Salad dressing is an important topic. It can make or break your lunchtime salad bowl, but never has the humble salad dressing had so much attention than it has this week, following a series of allegations made by Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' nanny.

To recap, Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' former nanny shared a number of allegations with the Daily Mail about the couple and their breakup, which the pair have described as 'false and scurrilous.'

In a joint statement released by their publicists yesterday they said: 'As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us.

'Her now 18 month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.'

One of the claims the nanny shared was an alleged story in which Jason Sudeikis allegedly said to her Olivia was leaving the home with her special salad dressing to have a salad with Harry Styles. Olivia and Harry are currently in a relationship and have been since the end of her marriage to Jason.

The nanny alleged Jason said: '"She made this salad and she made her special dressing and she’s leaving with her salad to have dinner with [Harry]" and "she has a special salad dressing she makes for us and she’s taken it to have it with him now".'

The alleged salad dressing has since gone viral, and got everyone wondering, just what is in this salad dressing that makes it so special?

Well, Olivia Wilde has put rumours to rest and shared a recipe of the salad dressing on her Instagram story.

Last night Olivia posted a picture of a recipe of a salad dressing from Nora Ephron's Heartburn novel, which includes olive oil, vinegar and mustard.

The recipe is as follows: 'Mix 2 tablespoons Grey Poupon mustard with 2 tablespoons good red wine vinegar.

'Then, whisk constantly with a fork, slowly add 6 tablespoons olive oil, until the vinaigrette is thick and creamy; this makes a very strong vinaigrette that's perfect for salad greens like arugula and watercress and endive.'

Sounds delicious, I wonder what Olivia's salad leaves of choice are?
