Kim Kardashian today has posted a note to Instagram stories, expressing her pain and dismay, concerning estranged husband Kanye West's behaviour. It's one of the rare times we've seen the reality television star comment publicly on the acrimony that has been building between the reality star and West.

Although the post might appear out of the blue, it actually comes in response to recent claims West made, regarding the activities of their shared daughter, 8-year-old North West, on social media app TikTok.

On Friday morning, the 44-year-old musician posted a picture of North, accompanied by the caption: 'Since this is my first divorce I need to know what should I do about my daughter being put on TikTok against my will?'

Despite the fact that this recent comment is just one in a long line of incendiary things that West has said publicly - concerning the pair's shared children, but also with reference to 41-year-old Kardashian's budding romance with comedian Pete Davidson - and so far the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has remained relatively tight lipped in response, the fact that she chose to speak out this time came as quite a surprise.

In a note which she posted to Instagram stories, Kim Kardashian states:

'Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity.'

'Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,' she continued in a subsequent paragraph.

Speaking of her attempts to co-parent civilly with West, she said: 'It saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way.'

In recent weeks, West has seemed to launched a dogged, but confusing pursuit of Kim Kardashian's attention. On the one hand, he has appeared desperate to invite her back into a relationship with him. For example, in December 2021, during a concert in Los Angeles, during his track 'Runaway' he amended the lyrics to include a mention of his former spouse, singing: 'Run right back to me, more specifically Kimberley'.

And then on the other hand, the musician has systematically critiqued her relationship with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson. Again using his music as the vector for communication, in his new single 'Eazy', he sings: 'God saved me from that crash / Just so I can beat Pete Davidson's ass'. There are even worse rumours about unforgivable things that the Yeezy founder might have been saying about Davidson, which we won't repeat here.

So it didn't raise many eyebrows when West decided to throw fresh gas on the fire, by suggesting Kardashian is pushing North to post TikTok videos, without his consent. That Kim Kardashian has felt the need to publicly respond speaks volumes about how much stress these antics have now caused.

She finished her statement with the words with an appeal: 'I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.'
