With public events a thing of the past and people (including celebrities) staying mostly at home, photos of the A-list are few and far between.

We were reminded of this over the weekend when Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were photographed together, something we've not seen in a long time due to the lack of premieres, award shows, and general leaving-the-house situations.

The Age of Adaline star shared a selfie taken with her husband of eight years on her Instagram Stories over the weekend.

Posing with their heads together, their expressions weren't particularly clear to make out because they were wearing protective face masks, but their wide eyes indicated they were pulling funny faces.

Lively was sporting a mask design featuring yellow dots and a woman's face, while Reynolds was more eclectic with a multitude of colours and shapes. The forces behind the cutting edge design? The couple's three children.

As Lively explained in her stories via the use of emojis, the masks had been illustrated by the couple's three daughters during an at-home DIY project, with the Gossip Girl star joking: 'We won't embarrass them at all in middle school...'

The last time the couple were pictured publicly on the red carpet was May 2019, when Lively was pregnant with their third daughter

Reynolds had previously discussed the quantity of arts and crafts taking place while the family quarantined, telling late night host, Stephen Colbert: 'I try not to push gender normative ideas on my kids as they're born, but each one, as soon as they came out of the chute, they wanted to make dresses, they wanted to dress in hot pink all day. That's what I've been doing. This morning we made dresses out of tissue paper, which was fun for them... We're developing the skills that will take us into the new world.'

The Deadpool actor joked that aside from helping his three daughters become the designers of tomorrow, he had been 'mostly drinking' in the earlier days of lockdown.
