The star is fronting her own cooking show, launching on upcoming streaming service HBO Max, after spending much of quarantine working on her culinary skills.

I've always been very vocal about my love of food,' Gomez said in a statement per The Hollywood Reporter.

'I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen.'

The 10-episode series will see Gomez mentored by professional chefs, remotely, as she attempts to recreate their dishes. The show will encourage viewers to follow along at home and will also highlight a certain food-related charity in each episode.

HBO Max said the show was inspired by watching Gomez trying to improve her kitchen skills during quarantine along with many of the population during lockdown. They also hope the programme can provide some light relief and entertainment during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

'Blending her determination with top-tier culinary artists is sure to entertain and educate viewers about something we’re all trying to work through — how to make cooking at home exciting, fun and delicious,' said the streaming service's head of content.

Gomez has been keeping her 175 million followers updated with her quarantine activities in a bid to provide inspiration for any bored fans, sharing her music, TV, podcast and film recommendations while also cooking up a storm (which included a nod to her former boyfriend The Weeknd).

Last month, Gomez shared a photo of a feast she had prepared where we spy macaroni and cheese, a cooked meat, greens and more. Yum

Unfortunately for British viewers HBO Max is currently not set to launch in the UK but fingers crossed they make their way overseas through another method.
