• Speaking to Us Weekly during an event in Los Angeles last weekend, Laura Dern shut down any notion that she and Bradley Cooper are dating, following his split with model Irina Shayk.
  • Instead, the Big Little Lies actress revealed the extent of their platonic relationship, calling Cooper "family," a "best friend," and even "spectacular."

Laura Dern is clearing the air. At a culinary event in Los Angeles last weekend, the actress spoke to Us Weekly, dispelling any dating rumours that may be swirling the Internet after she was spotted lunching with Bradley Cooper shortly after he announced his split from model Irina Shayk.

"We're amazing friends. We're so lucky. And we're family," Dern told the outlet, shockingly revealing that men and women can hang out without having the hots for each other.

She continued, "I mean, everybody's always gonna comment about whatever seems intriguing, and he's the greatest human, and one of my best friends in the world. So I don't blame anyone for having deep curiosity about his life cause he's spectacular.”

Not only does Dern's statement confirm the two pals have the sweetest relationship ever, but it also saves us the trouble of having to assemble a mind-numbing couple name for them! (Ladley? Braura? Please. My head hurts just thinking about it.)

In July, paparazzi snapped the duo out and about together in New York City. The public appearance came about a month after Cooper and Shayk announced their separation, although they still plan to co-parent their two-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine, together.
