The Duke of Sussex has discussed the 'newfound clarity' he's experienced since becoming a Dad to Archie.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May and according to the new Dad, it's made him see things differently.

In a speech delivered at The Diana Award National Youth Mentoring Summit in London on Tuesday, Prince Harry said he was 'struck' by the 'power of the invisible role model' and how people who might not think they qualify as one have more impact than they think.

'Perhaps it's the newfound clarity I have as a father knowing that my son will always be watching what I do, mimicking my behaviour, one day maybe even following in my footsteps,' he said.

'But it's not just my role as a father that shows me that; it's the people I see every day that don't realise how inspirational they are to those watching.'

The 34-year-old then spoke about one of his role models, his mother Princess Diana, to who's work the award scheme is in tribute to.

'My mother, Princess Diana, was a role model to so many, without realising the impact she would have on so many lives. You don't have to be a princess or public figure to be a role model, in fact it's equally valuable if you'e not because it's more relatable.'

Harry continued by encouraging businesses and organisations to invest more in mentoring as it can be a valuable tool to help people shine brighter, before rounding off his speech with a touching acknowledgement of his mother.

'To the mentees here today, I am incredibly proud of what you've achieved and I can safely say that my mother, who would have turned 58 yesterday would feel the same.'

The Duke's speech comes a few weeks after Harry celebrated his first ever Father's Day.

Marking the occasion on Instagram, the couple shared a sweet photo of the new Dad cradling Archie, who had his hand placed round Harry's finger.

Over the weekend, Meghan took a break from maternity leave to join her husband at a baseball game in east London. There, she was presented with a little baseball jersey babygrow for her son from both teams, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, and her reaction was priceless.
