Kate Middleton has more in common with her late mother-in-law Princess Diana than simply Prince William. Alongside her philanthropic drive and love of children, the Duchess of Cambridge also shares Lady Diana Spencer's sense of style.

More than once, the mother-of-three has mirrored some of the style icon's best looks, proving though the mother of Prince Harry and William, who passed away in 1997, has a sartorial legacy that still lives on.

The Duchess of Cambridge wowed in a gold, diaphanous Jenny Packham gown while attending the 'No Time To Die' World Premiere in London. The Royal take on the 'naked' dress featured a cape and a 1980s-does-1940s design reminiscent of Princess Diana's 1985 silver Bruce Oldfield design.

Eagle-eyed Royal fans may have spotted that it appears Kate Middleton has transformed her late mother-in-laws earrings into an earring and necklace set. During a meeting with the President of Ukraine and First Lady Оlena, the Duchess of Cambridge paired her Gabriela Hearst blue dress with the reworked pieces that were gifted to her from husband William in 2010.

The earrings were originally a wedding gift to Princess Diana from Crown Prince Fahd of Saudi Arabia on her wedding day in 1981, and the mother-of-two went on to wear them multiple times since, seemingly proving them a favourite of Lady Diana Spencer's.

Mother-of-three Middleton referenced her husband's late mother once more at 2020's BAFTA awards. The 38 year-old wore a white and gold Alexander McQueen dress (previously worn by the Duchess in 2012) that resembled Lady Diana Spencer's own dress in the same colour palette that she wore to the German Embassy in 1986.

Though simpler, Kate's dress reflected the shape of her mother-in-law's, featuring a v-neck and a full skirt.
