It was a quiet birthday for Meghan Markle, (well, as far as we can tell from social networks, that is) but we did get a flash of the birthday girl - and a new summer outfit - thanks to a tribute post from her company, As Ever.

As the Duchess of Sussex turned 44 on August 4, her lifestyle company put up an Instagram post of Markle looking characteristically California Chic, wearing a strappy summer dress and wide-brimmed hat - two items that have become key signifiers of her laid-back Montecito style.

Eager-eyed fans like site, What Meghan Wore were quick to identify the outfit, perhaps because they were all items either the same or similar to those she's worn previously.

Meghan wore a Gabriela Hearst Magritte dress - while it's difficult to tell the colour from the black and white image, it looks to be the denim shade that she wore in a People shoot earlier in the year. This colour is no longer available on sale, but there are plenty of others still available - some even on sale.

She paired the dress a Cuyana hat that is currently only available in the US.

The caption to the post paid tribute to the Duchess saying: 'Celebrating the woman behind it all. She pours her heart, vision & magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder @meghan 🥂'

Meghan received another inadvertent birthday gift from woman of the moment Pamela Anderson, who put to bed any rumours of beef between the women over the similarities in their recent TV shows.

On an episode of Andy Cohen's What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Anderson (on the press tour for her latest film, Naked Gun, the host asked her: 'On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela’s Cooking with Love? There were articles saying these two shows were very similar.'

As Meghan and Gwyneth Paltrow had done previously, Anderson also put to bed any rumours of friction between the women saying: 'One – I didn’t,' before adding, 'No, I didn't really look, but I didn't invent cooking shows. She's just doing her thing.'
