Milan Fashion Week back in February served us countless internet-breaking moments – from Bella and Gigi Hadid dressed as furniture for Moschino, Kendall Jenner rocking red hair and Fendi's itsy-bitsy, teeny tiny bags, to the much-anticipated reveal of what is surely the hottest collab of the year: Adidas x Gucci.
There had been rumours about a possible collaboration between the two brands for a while, but Gucci's AW22 'Exquisite' show confirmed the news by sending models down the runway in high-fashion pieces featuring both the signature GG monogram and three-stripe logos.
Alessandro Michele teased the collab by sending the first models out in reworked classic Adidas trainers, before giving us the goods we'd been waiting for: exquisitely cut, modern suiting featuring the lateral three stripes, adidas-embroidered knitwear, sporty-chic dresses and ultra-covetable accessories including hats, bags, gloves and shoes.
And a few months later, Gucci teased the new collection once more with a series of Instagram posts showing models wearing the retro-inspired collab while doing various forms of exercise. Referencing the rich sporting heritage of both brands, pieces include funky leather golf bags, brightly-coloured co-ords, tennis-inspired polos and skirts, chic anoraks and every logo-covered accessory imaginable.
Fashion lovers and hypebeasts the world over have been waiting for news on the drop with bated breath, ever since. And now, finally, the collection has landed – though getting your hands on it might not be as simple as you first thought.
The first adidas x Gucci collection dropped online on June 7, available to purchase solely via the 'My Gucci' or Adidas' 'Confirmed' platforms. With prices starting at £375 for a double-logoed baseball cap, it's well worth signing up for first access via both brands' exclusive platforms now (don't worry, it's free) – before the whole lot, inevitably, sells out.
Top of our shopping list? A pair of super-chic pink Gazelles, the revamped mini Horsebit bag and the forest-green tracksuit co-ord. Race you to the checkout...
