Kim Kardashian has officially benched her sleek signature extensions, debuting a grown-out black buzzcut for CR Fashion Book's 10th anniversary issue. The done-it-all star, who recently made her on-screen debut in the latest season of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story, has traded out her hip-grazing waves for a close-cropped 90s trim. Very à la Girl, Interrupted.
While this statement trim is definitely taking the term 'hair transformation' to all-new lengths, the TV-personality-turned-businesswoman-turned-lawyer has long been experimenting with her colour and style. From emergency hotel bleach sessions with Chris Appleton pre-Met Gala to making a beyond convincing case for grown out black roots and platinum ends on The Kardashians (who needs a maintenance colour?), there's no stone unturned in Kim K's repertoire of stand-out, feed-stopping looks. Honey blonde? Check. Pamela Anderson up-dos? Check. Buzzcut? Check.
And while this effortlessly movie-ready look is almost certainly a wig, her likeness to momager Kris Jenner here is truly uncanny.
Kim is far from the first to take on the buzz this year. Florence Pugh debuted a freshly shaved crop for this year's Met Gala before delivering a long string of playful tones and textures. Her latest styling? A windswept bleach-blonde, which she sported for the return of the ELLE UK style awards; we'd put this look somewhere between ice queen glamour and Y2k boyband spikes.
