I must admit, I was pretty surprised when I found out this is Sephora's best-selling foundation ever – but since getting my hands on one, it hasn't left my kit.

As the name suggests, it feels like a silky, water-based serum, but packs a punch in the pigment stakes, making skin look instantly bright and even. The ingredients list stands up to scrutiny too: there's niacinamide to balance oil, squalane for moisture, and even factor-30 mineral sunscreen.

Skinfix is a brand laser-focused on the skin barrier – which (as someone who's been burned by a high-strength serum before) feels highly appealing to me.
