Daith piercings - if you haven't heard of them yet, then 2023 is the year to get involved.

Named the 'hottest' cartilage piercing by LA's most in-demand piercer, Brian Keith Thompson from Body Electric Tattoo, and with studies suggesting it can reduce the severity of migraines, a daith piercing is the prettiest way to work a bejewelled hoop earring and keep your head clear. Oh, and Zoe Kravitz has one, so we obviously need to get on board ASAP.

'I love daith piercings because they can be subtle or statement-making, all depending on the jewellery you choose', says head piercer at The Circle London, Rhianna Jones. 'Also, if cared for correctly, they can actually be one of the easier piercings on the ear to heal.'

How much does a daith piercing hurt?

The answer here may actually surprise you. 'The response I get from clients is usually that the daith piercing doesn't hurt as much as they expected," says Jones.. 'Comparing it to other ear parts on the pain factor, it is pretty similar I think. It all depends on mind set and each person's pain responses.'

What's the 2023 way to wear a daith piercing?

'I am a massive fan of big statement rings in a daith,' says Jones – and she's not alone, with everyone from Kylie Jenner to Miley Cyrus recently sporting megawatt diamond daith rings.
