Kim Kardashian made her Met Gala debut in 2013 and has gone every year since. So it’s no surprise that the entrepreneur made another grand entrance for her 12th year at the prestigious fashion event. Kardashian wore an all-leather look by Chrome Hearts in accordance to the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme.
She posed solo on the red carpet, showcasing her outfit for photographers from every angle.
Prior to tonight, Kardashian’s last big public appearance was at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where she wore a very bridal-looking Balenciaga ball gown.
While her red carpet events might be more limited these days, the entrepreneur has been busy stepping more into acting this year. She’ll appear on the upcoming Ryan Murphy legal series All’s Fair. Last June, Kardashian spoke to Chloë Sevigny for Variety’s Actors on Actors series about her new part.
“I’m going to be playing a lawyer, a high-powered divorce attorney,” she said. “I will be channeling [celebrity divorce attorney] Laura Wasser, if that resonates with anybody.”
Kardashian, who has been studying for years to become a lawyer herself, added, “I’m really excited about it. And, again, that confidence that [Ryan Murphy] believes in me to take this project on means so much to me. And it feels so right as a character that I could be a lawyer in real life and play one on TV.”
She explained her approach to her burgeoning acting career, saying, “My feeling was that ‘OK, every year I want to do something that makes me terribly uncomfortable,’ to where I can just grow and hopefully be a better person because of that terrifying experience. And the first one was SNL, and I just was like, ‘I don’t know if I can do it.’ I had said no a few times. And then finally I got the confidence to say, ‘I’m going to try it. It makes me so uncomfortable, but it’s just a week and in one week it’ll be over.’” She said she wasn’t nervous day of.
“I generally genuinely love working,” she admitted. “It’s like my happy place.”
