The holiday season is here and the Duchess of Sussex is preparing a Thanksgiving to remember with husband Prince Harry and their two children, five-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet. On Friday, in a new interview with Marie Claire, Meghan Markle shared details of their upcoming family feast.

“We’re always making sure we have something fun to do,” Meghan shared. “Like any other family you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar—fun.”

She added, “I love the holidays,” explaining that “every year it gets better” as the kids gets older and appreciate the special traditions more.

“At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she said. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”

The couple apparently keep their Thanksgivings “low-key,” but have been inviting more people every year.

“I was thinking about, in the past few years of having Thanksgiving here, like many of us, I think you always make sure there’s room at the table for your friends who don’t have family, which is really key,” she said, adding one year writer Gloria Steinem joined them in their Montecito home, where they’ve been hosting dinners since 2020.

In 2021, Meghan was interviewed around the same season on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, telling host Ellen DeGeneres, “I love to cook. We’ll be home and just sort of relax and settle in. It’s our second Thanksgiving at home in California. It’ll be nice, it’ll be really nice.”

She continued, “We moved here during [COVID-19] lockdown, exactly when things shut down, so we’ve just been able to spend a lot of time at home and creating our home. But I think it’s just the lifestyle and the weather is pretty great… We’re just happy.”
